Top 7 lastnightsvice.com Posts of All Time

Posted by: jfitzsimmons In: Blog

The website has now been around since Aug. 27, 2007, and we’ve published 142 posts. I thought it would be cool to round up our top 7 posts of all time, based on popularity and an arbitrary measurement of coolness.

1. 105.7 The Point interviews Last Nights Vice
Aug. 13, 2009
Posted In: Press

We went into the Point studio to promote three Point sponsored shows we were playing. In the studio was Steve Ewing(formerly of The Urge) and the DJ Donnie Fandango. Donnie had a few nice things to say about us so we decided to get the audio and make a slideshow using animoto.com and throwing the video up on YouTube

2. We are Full Throttle Magazine’s Band of the Month
Dec. 11, 2007
Posted In: Press

This is one of the first articles I remember being written about us. We had close ties to Full Throttle and we even played a show sponsored by them. Here is a piece of the article:

There is a new sound in St. Louis. It incorperates rock
n’ roll you can bang your head to, and dancy undertones
to put a shake in your shoes. And our band of the month,
Last Nights Vice, has been injecting this new sound into the
stagnent scene, with no plans of slowing down…

3. LNV music to be in ‘White Tiger: The Story of Rick and Roddy’
Jul. 18, 2009
Posted In: News

A couple of local filmmakers got a hold of us after seeing an article about us on rockandrollreport.com. We ended up getting a lot of our music into their film, which is currently being submitted to international film festivals. We played at the wrap party and even saw ourselves on the big screen at the Tivoli. Awesome guys and an awesome film.

4. Spotlight Stl interviews Last Nights Vice
Jun. 16, 2009
Posted In: Press

I think this was the first we met Kari Williams who has written about us a few times. It was a very candid, laid-back interview with great questions. Here’s a bit:

LNV works collectively to put lyrics to a melody.
“It starts with a small idea, and we keep playing it over and over…until new parts evolve from that idea, and then we make a song out of it,” Ghiassi said.

5. Watch Hawthorne Heights Rep our boy Speakerhead
Oct. 31, 2008
Posted In: Videos

Jordan had the genius idea to create a real life Speakerhead. He wanted to bring our mascot to life. Using cardboard, paper, a working speaker and an iPod, we were able to put this thing on our head and play our music out of it. After a Hawthorne Heights show at Pop’s, we talked the members of the band into posing with Speakerhead and saying a few words. Check it out:

6. Last Nights Vice in the studio, etc…
Nov. 23, 2009
Posted In: Videos

Here are 3 random videos of us recording our newest songs. One is of Andrew in the studio recording drums. The 2nd one is of all of us spaz dancing. The 3rd is a classic from when we hit the road. We like to prank call certain establishments as Jordan’s alter ego, Mort Weinstein.

See all 3 of these videos here.

7. A History of Last Nights Vice
Ju. 08, 2009
Posted In: Blog

This is our 2nd blog post. I wanted to explain how Last Nights Vice came to be. Here’s a part of it:
Last Nights Vice has really been a 14 year ride for us. Most people don’t believe us when we say we’ve been playing for that long but it is true. The whole idea for a band started in the 4th grade and came from the mind of Chris Blake. He invited me to be in the band and then we started inviting everyone we knew into the band. None of us played instruments, but that didn’t seem important at the time.
