Review of Last Nights Vice show at Cicero’s from The Alestle

Rockin’ out with Last Nights Vice at Cicero’s
The main event was Last Nights Vice, lead by singer/song writer Brandon House. The moment the first note hit, LNV exploded with fire-like intensity, as if each band member came alive with the music.
Though the stage at Cicero’s is on the smaller side, Chris Blake (bass), Joe Fitzsimmons (guitar) and Jordan Phoenix (vocals/bass) flew across the stage with a presence about them, as Andrew Ghiassi (drummer) pounded away on the drums.
House belted out the self-written songs with such passion that I would be hard-pressed to say there was a person who couldn’t sense the sincerity in his lyrics. LNV has a way, with their stage presence and their raw talent, to make the crowd forget all of their problems and just get lost in the music. At one point, House even told the crowd to “forget all the bullshit” and only pay attention to that moment in time.
During one of LNV’s final songs, Hackett came up to the mic and sang along, as House left the stage to mingle in the crowd. When House returned to the stage, he and Hackett finished the song together, in a rightful sendoff for Ready the Cannons.

The name Alestle is an acronym derived from the names of the three campus locations of SIUE: Alton, East St. Louis and Edwardsville.
